Did you answer “Yes, I do”? If you did, then you really don’t.
Microsoft isn’t all bad. The Xbox is pretty good, but that’s it. Microsoft Office is useful, but let’s not confuse that with being good, because pretty much every single alternative is better. My vote goes to Google Docs and Apple iWork. I like easy answers. Actually, screw Apple too; I’m a fan of the cloud and I hate software, but let’s stay on the topic of “Microsoft sucks”. Enough has been written about it you might think, but apparently not since they still make stupid ass mistakes like this one.
To put the screenshot in context, I was trying out the beta version of Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac. As expected, it expired. Since I had no intention to continue using this product of purchase it, I wanted to uninstall this, now, useless suite of applications.
As you can see in the screenshot, I can’t even do that.
The only logical explanation is that this is Microsoft’s poor marketing plan to keep their products on people’s machines. I don’t even think that’s logical. That part of my brain might just have been damaged by this stupidity.
Do you what the worst part is? I had good things to say about this beta version of Microsoft Office for Mac. Now, the world will never know. Of course, I’m assuming that the entire world reads this blog.
