Gmail has a new feature: you can now format you automated email signatures beyond plain text. Maybe you already did it before. Maybe you had a trick with an extension or plugin or add-on. Well, you don’t need that anymore. Now, rich email signatures are built in Gmail. It’s a terrible thing and also a great thing.
I hope I won’t see fancy signatures with big ass text here and there and colours and images all over the place. That just ruins it.
What I do hope to see is something simple and straightforward like my signature. The information that I want to convey is there, it’s clear and it’s not 10 lines (I’ve seen it). My signature is also appropriate in any language, don’t be thrown off the the English “Web designer”, because pretty much every country understands that.
Notice that I don’t put my email address in my signature. Really, why would you do that? You could send an empty email and your recipient would figure out your email address.
Anyway, use rich email signatures wisely, it’s under your Gmail Settings.
